In­di­vid­u­als un­con­scious­ly per­ceive their en­vi­ron­ment even be­fore birth. And ba­bies as young as three months can al­ready rec­og­nize in­di­vid­ual words in streams of syl­la­bles. This so-called sta­t­ic learn­ing in in­fan­cy shapes us for life.
